어린이의 치아손상 대처방법에 대한 초등학교 교사들의 인식도 조사

Abstract
어린이의 치아 외상에 대해서는 즉각적이고 적절한 처치가 외상받은 치아의 예후를 결정짓는 중요한 요소로 인정된다. 특히 완전 탈구된 치아는 손상 직후의 즉각적이고 적절한 응급처치 여하에 따라 그 예후가 지대한 영향을 받는다.
본 조사는 초등학교 교사들이 어린이의 치아손상에 대한 대처방법에 대하여 평소에 어느 정도의 응급처지 지식을 가지고 있는가를 파악할 목적으로 시도되었다. 부산 시내 17개 초등학교 담임교사 520명을 대상으로 설문지를 통하여 조사를 시행하였으며, 그 중 455명으로부터 응답을 받아 자료를 분석하였다.
조사 결과, 치아손상의 대처방법에 대해 대부분 일반적으로 알고 있는 지식 이외에 치아에 관한 내용은 매우 부족하였으며, 실제적인 처치에 있어서는 여전히 미숙함이 드러났고 처치방법에 대한 교육도 보편화되어 있지 않았다. 또한 설문에 응한 대부분의 교사들은 어린이의 치아손상의 예방과 치료방법에 대한 전문적인 교육의 필요성에 동의 (81.8%) 하였으며. 나아가 치아손상의 예방을 위한 mouth protector의 필요성에 대해서도 동의 (71.9%)하는 것으로 나타났다.
본 연구의 결과에 비추어 볼 때, 초등학교 교사들에 대해 치아손상시 대처법에 대한 교육과 손상 예방을 위한 mouth protector의 보급이 필요한 것으로 사료된다.
For the tooth traumas of children, instant and appropriate treatment is one of the important factors to deter￢mine prognosis of traumatized teeth_ Especially in case of avulsed tooth_ , prognosis is greatly affected by instant and appropriate emergency treatment.
The objective of this survey was to investigate elementary school teachers? knowledge of first aid treatment for tooth traumas of children. We asked for 520 elementary school teachers in Busan to answer questionnaires and 455(87.5%) were returned.
The result of the survey supports that knowledge of tooth is little understood except general information about the treatment of tooth traumas. And it also shows that practical treatment is poor and instruction of medical treatment is not generally known. Furthermore most teachers agreed that expert education for prevention and cure of tooth traumas is necessary (81.8%) and mouth protector is also necessary (71.9%) for the prevention.
The result leads to the conclusion that educations on the prevention and emergency treatment of tooth trau￢mas of elementary children who are physically active are needed.
